Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Thank you to all of you who replied to our initial email indicating it successfully found you. We are embarrassed to admit, that for various reasons, that simple email took almost three years to reach you. We have always been cautious when introducing “technology” into our office. For the same philosophical beliefs that explain why Causeway Chiropractic is a “hands on” practice, we have always been more comfortable as a “pen and paper” facility. Nonetheless, in order to participate in the current and future healthcare arena we must adapt and progress.
There are many benefits to electronic health records. Efficient record keeping and improved inter/intra practitioner communication are made easier by this evolution. We hope to improve patient communication by using both individual and group emails, by continuing posting on Facebook and by texting patient reminders….etc. In theory healthcare will become more efficient and cost effective.
The launch of our website, www.causewaychiropractic.com was a big step for us. While it is still a work in progress, it has already assisted new patients with initial intake protocol. Causewaychiropractic.com will serve all our patients starting this year. As healthcare moves towards a more numerical quantitative outcome oriented model, electronic record keeping has become a mandatory necessity.
Ironically, during the transition to a completely paperless health record the amount of paperwork and documentation will actually increase. Data must be collected and put into a computer file. This information not only assists us with providing you the best service, it also justifies and defends your care when its “medically necessity” is challenged by your insurance carrier (Medicare, BCBS, Aetna, etc). Unfortunately, the increased and sometimes irrelevant paperwork is frustrating to both you and our office. But, as the number of file audits and payment denials increase, documentation is not optional.
We hope you will find our website helpful. At www.causewaychiropractic.com you will be able to print out and complete most of your required paperwork before your scheduled appointment. We thank you in advance for your cooperation. If you have any questions concerning your care or payment guidelines please do not hesitate to discuss them with us. You can also schedule an individual meeting or phone conference with Jen if you have any insurance concerns or confusion. We hope to simplify any third party requirements so that we can continue to focus our energies and knowledge towards your healthcare needs
Thank you for your continued trust. Have a healthy and rewarding journey in 2014.
Yours in Health,
Christopher J. Bott, DC
